Year 3 celebrated and found out about Islam on World Religion Day. We tried eating traditional sweets, which is a way Muslims usually begin Eid celebrations. The children really enjoyed dressing up in traditional Muslim clothes and looking at how the 'wudu' (the washing before prayer) is performed. We tried to write in Arabic and copied the actions needed to perform a prayer. We had such a lovely day, which ended with our parents coming in to celebrate the work we had been doing.
