I’m very excited to be teaching Year 5 this year and to guide the children as they continue to grow, learn, and flourish. Below, you’ll find a helpful timetable and key reminders to support you throughout the week. I’m looking forward to an exciting and successful year together!

Homework

Every child needs to read at home each night and should bring their book into school every day.  Wherever possible, please help your child practise their spellings and times tables. Testing them at home will help cement their learning of the different spelling rules and multiplication facts.  Homework will be set on the TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed websites every Friday afternoon so that the children have a full week to complete it.   It is important that this homework is completed online so that the systems can adapt the level of challenge to meet your child's individual learning needs.  If you have any difficulty with accessing the homework online please let me know.  Each Monday children will also bring home their spelling list which will be glued into their pupil planner, a handwriting sheet of the week's spellings, a maths booklet (the pages to be complete will be written in their planner) and a reading comprehension.
