Welcome to Boarshaw Primary School!

Hello! I am delighted to welcome you to the Boarshaw Primary School website. Boarshaw Primary School is a thriving and expanding Primary School in Middleton, Manchester. Our fantastic pupils are friendly, caring, hardworking and eager to learn.
At Boarshaw primary we offer a breakfast club and after school club, meaning we have wrap around care available from 8am until 5.30pm.  The school doors open at 8.45am, registers are taken at 9 am and school finishes at 3.15pm

Our school offers a safe, caring and stimulating environment. We have high expectations for staff and pupils alike and through quality teaching, individually tailored support and encouragement, we aim to ensure that all pupils make rapid progress and attain higher than average results.

We have been thrilled with our amazing results over the last few years and delighted that our KS1 and KS2 results remain above local and in line with national. Children continue to make good progress from their starting points at Boarshaw Primary. Have a look at our fantastic 2019 results here.

Our teachers are dedicated to bring learning alive and work hard to make sure that lessons are engaging. We believe that learning and teaching should be creative, purposeful and challenging.

"Teachers have good subject knowledge...which they use effectively to promote pupils' learning. Teachers use questioning well to probe pupils' knowledge and understanding," OFSTED 2016

Through our effective curriculum we aim to equip each child with the skills they need for lifelong learning. We see each child as an individual and we aim to develop confident learners, who take ownership of their learning and our proud of their achievements. Our Curriculum Pages will provide you with information about our delivery of the National Curriculum, the exciting topics covered in each year group, how we enrich the curriculum for our pupils and how we embed British Values in all we do.

Our pupils are well behaved and proud of their school.  Our Class Dojos are proving a real hit and help to further motivate pupils to ensure “Every Moment Matters.”  See the school's Behaviour Management Policy for further details.

“The behaviour of pupils is good. Pupils are polite and courteous to adults and each other. They welcome visitors and willingly engage in articulate conversations about their work and school life.” Ofsted 2016

“The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare is outstanding.” Ofsted 2016.

OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

We are always seeking to improve our work, the overview of our Self Evaluation Statement and our School Development Plan provide brief information about our strengths and weaknesses and current foci to further improve.

This year we are focusing particularly on improving our love for reading and increasing the number of children achieving greater depth. By reading more challenging books our vocabulary will improve, empowering us to confidently share our ideas and opinions with a range of audiences.
