This week we have started our new topic 'The Scented Garden'. As part of this topic we are learning about the traditional tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
We started our story telling by bringing the story to life using freeze frames and role play. We worked in small groups to retell parts of the story. We use props and our own expressions to take on the roles of characters. We used our body parts to create the beanstalk and the castle. We had lots of fun and really enjoyed using drama to help us write stories.
We have started to develop our story writing this term by using expanded noun phrases in sentences. We have been able to describe the Giant and the Beanstalk. Some of us even used commas correctly in our sentences. We are doing a fab job in Year 2. Keep checking to see more of our brilliant work!
